Channel History

It was 1980 and the cable company name was Northeast Cablevision when the local cable channel for Washington County TV was born. It was the first local origination channel in Washington County, channel 10 seen in Machias and a few surrounding towns. We had 12 basic channels, no weather channel back then so the forecasts from NOAA weather radio were posted in text and updated twice a day. The station was moved on the dial a few times and has been on Channel 10, 55,11 and 58 on Pine Tree Cablevision and found it's home on Cable Channel 2 when Time Warner Cable purchased the cable system in 2008.
